Chemical Peels

A chemical peel is a procedure used to improve the texture, colour and luminosity of facial (and hand/decolletage) skin. Specially produced, high quality chemical solutions are applied to the skin to stimulate exfoliation and shedding of the statun corneum. The regenerated skin is smoother and less wrinkled than the old skin. There are many types of peels available so Mr Banwell or one of his aesthetic nurses will tailor the peel for your skin type and needs. The philosophy for chemical peels has changed in recent yesrs and the vogue for ‘one-off’ peels involving a long ‘down-time’ has been replaced by the use of lower strength, higher quality peels on a more regular basis. This is less destructive for the skin and results in fewer complications; in addition, it is more physiological and works with the skin rather than against it.
