Currettage

Currettage is a surgical technique which involves ‘scraping’ off superficial lesions from the skin. This may range from simple ‘warty’-like growths to larger areas of crusting (such as sun-damaged skin). Currettage is usually performed under local anaesthetic and a dressing is usually applied after the procedure and left in place for a couple of weeks. The remaining raw area often heals with a scab which then falls off in due course.

If you are contemplating surgery please do phone the office on 0845 2600 261 to discuss you wishes further or email help@paulebanwell.com.
