The concept of Liposculpture is to improve body contour by permanently removing fat deposits between the skin and muscle. Liposculpture allows precise removal of fat, so that proportions and lines of symmetry may be achieved.

Liposculpture is performed using much thinner hollow needles compared to traditional liposuction. Fat deposits are first broken up using a special mixture (tumescent technique) and are then removed through the hollow needle using a vacuum. The procedure is usually done under general anaesthetic but can be performed in certain cases under local with sedation. It usually causes minimal bleeding, swelling and bruising and the patient can resume normal activities within a week or so. However, strenuous exercise should be avoided for three or so weeks, depending on the individual and the location of fat removal.

Areas ameanable to liposculpture:

  • Tummy/Abdomen
  • Upper arms (bingo wings)
  • Chin
  • Buttocks
  • Thighs
  • Back of knees
  • Hips
  • Waist
